X is preferably-C 2 C 4 - They are prepared by condensing one mole of 3,4,3<SP>1</SP>,4<SP>1</SP>-tetraminodiphenyl with at least two moles of a 4-halonaphthalic anhydride and reacting the dihalo compound obtained with at least two moles of an amino alcohol H 2 N-X-OH. The dyes colour polyamides and polyesters in red yellow shades.
