abstract 1519983 Alkyd resin coating compositions containing organic metal compounds KANSAI PAINT CO Ltd 9 July 1975 [10 July 1974 (2)] 28963/75 Heading C3R An ambient-temperature-curable coating composition comprises, by weight, 100 parts (A) an alkyd resin or mixture thereof with polybutadiene or modified oil, and 0À5-15 parts (B) an alcoholate and/or chelate compound of a metal M. Also present may be Co, Mn, Pb, Zr, La, or Ce naphthenate driers and 50-400 parts pigments. M may be Al or Ti, and (B) may be M triisopropylate, mono-sec-butoxy M diisopropylate, M tri-sec-butylate, M tripentylate, M trihexylate, methyl- or ethyl-acetoacetate M diisopropylate, M-tris(methyl- or ethyl-acetoacetate), di(methyl- or ethyl-) malonate M dissopropylate, or M tris (acetylacetone), or mixture thereof. The presence of (B) prevents wrinkling during drying of thick films, e.g. of >40 Ám dry thickness.
