1518676 Detergent compositions PROCTER & GAMBLE Ltd 30 Oct 1975 [19 Nov 1974] 50019/74 Heading C5D A laundry composition having a "phase coalescence temperature" within the normal wash temperature range comprises (a) one or more ethyiene oxide adducts of C 10-16 primary or secondary alcohols having an HLB value of 10.5 to 12.3 and (b) one or more liquids containing 8 to 16 aliphatic carbon atoms, the weight ratio (a):(b) being from 1:1 to 100:1. Compositions according to the invention must also satisfy a specific "phase coalescence" test and a specific cleaning test. Liquids (b) specified include methyl laurate, lauryl acetate, hexyl hexanoate, dibutyl phthalate, dodecaldehyde and n-amyl propionate. Other ingredients specified include sodium tripolyphosphate, sodium perborate, sodium sulphate, sodium silicate and water. The composition may be granular. It may be used as a conventional laundry detergent or for the removal of grease from textile articles applied in concentrated form directly to the grease which is subsequently washed out. |
