abstract | 1518088 Storage-stable soap bars UNILEVER Ltd 4 Sept 1975 [6 Sept 1974] 39031/74 Heading C5D Soap bars which are less malodorous on storage comprise (a) soap, (b) an oxido-reductase enzyme (E.C. 1.1. or E.C. 1.2.) and (c) a hydrogen acceptor. Enzymes specified include alcohol dehydrogenase, xanthine oxidase and aldehyde dehydrogenase. Hydrogen acceptors include nicotinamide-adenine-dinucleotide (NAD), nicotinamide-adeninedinucleotide phosphate (NADP) and oxygen. Bakers yeast may be present as both enzyme and hydrogen acceptor. The soap may be tallow soap. Other ingredients present may be sodium phosphate buffer and hexanal. |
