1516596 Laminates HENKEL KG AUF AKTIEN 1 July 1976 [2 July 1975] 27407/76 Heading B5N [Also in Division C3] Substrates such as paper and cardboard may be laminated to metals, e.g. aluminium and copper foils, and to pretreated polyethylene and polypropylene, with adhesives comprising (1) an aqueous dispersion of a copolymer of butadiene with styrene or acrylonitrile and containing 0À5-3% of carbonyl groups, (2) 0À5- 8À0% of polyvinyl pyrrolidone or a watersoluble vinyl pyrrolidone copolymer having a K value of 30-90 and (3) 0À05-2À0% of watersoluble macromolecular substance containing carboxyl groups, or a water-soluble salt thereof, relative to the weight of butadiene polymer, the dispersion having a solids content of 20- 50%. In an example paper is laminated to copper foil with an adhesive comprising (1) a butadiene/styrene/acrylic acid copolymer, (2) polyvinyl pyrrolidone and (3) sodium carboxymethyl cellulose. |
