1513550 Cleaning composition UNILEVER Ltd 3 May 1976 [5 May 1975] 18770/75 Heading C5D A cleaning composition, especially for handwashing of dishes, for use in hard and soft water, comprises (a) a detergent, (b) from 3 to 60% by weight of an organic sequestrant having a pK value for calcium of at least 3, and a difference between the pK value for calcium and magnesium of at least 0À5, and (c) from 0À5 to 30% by weight of an inorganic and/or organic magnesium salt having a solubility product of at least 5 x 10<SP>-5</SP>. The magnesium salt may be the sulphate, chloride, bromide, iodide, nitrate, citrate, or tartrate or the salt of EDTA. The detergent may be an alkyl benzene sulphonate or a secondary alkane sulphonate. The sequestrant may be NTA, EDTA, dipicolinic acid, hydroxy-EDTA, 1,2-diaminecyclohexane-N,N<SP>1</SP> tetraacetic acid, 2-sulphoaniline diacetic acid, 2- aminobenzoic acid, N,N-diacetic acid, N-acetoamido-imino diacetic acid, N-methoxyethylimino diacetic acid, N-hydroxyethylimino diacetic acid, trimethylenediaminetetraacetic acid, tetramethylenediaminetetraacetic acid, 1,2-bis {2-[di(carboxymethyl)-amino]-ethoxy} ethane, N-hydroxyethyl, N,N', N", N"diethylenetriamine tet raacetic acid, or an alkali metal, ammonium or substituted ammonium salt thereof. |
