abstract | 1512474 Food and tobacco flavourings FIRMENICH SA 12 April 1976 [11 April 1975] 14752/76 Headings A2B and A2C [Also in Division C2] 2-phenyl-3-(fur-2-yl)-prop-2-en-1-al is used as a flavouring for food and tobacco (including tobacco substitutes). Preferred amounts are 1-10 ppm in food and 10-100 ppm in tobacco. The compound gives a honey-like flavour, and may be included in a flavouring composition which also contains e.g. vanillin, heliotropin, vanitrope, butyric acid, acetoin, diacetyl, benzyl alcohol, propylene glycol and ethanol. |
