titleOfInvention | Technetium 99-m labelled radio-diagnostic agents non radioactive carriers therefor and method of preparation thereo |
abstract | 1508900 Radiodiagnostic compositions UNION CARBIDE CORP 28 Aug 1975 [29 Aug 1974] 12642/76 Divided out of 1508899 Heading A5B [Also in Division C3] A stable non - radioactive macroaggregated albumin carrier comprising human serum albumin and stannous ion chelated with tartrate, the carrier having a pH from 5 to 6 and being in the form of particles from 3 to 150 microns in diameter is prepared by (a) contacting a saline solution with a sufficient amount of an acid which is non - oxidising to tin under the conditions employed to adjust the pH of the solution from 2 to 6 (b) introducing stannous tartrate and human serum albumin into the solution (c) adding sodium hydroxide to adjust the pH from 5 to 6 and (d) heating to macroaggregate the albumin. Preferably a preservative is added to the tartrate solution e.g. sodium ethyl mercurithio calicylate and methyl or propyl phydroxybenzoates. The carrier may be used to support sodium pentechinate containing <SP>99m</SP>Tc for radiodiagnostic techniques. |
