abstract 1504554 Cyclodiene insecticides NATIONAL RESEARCH DEVELOPMENT CORP 4 Nov 1976 [6 Nov 1975] 46076/75 Heading C2C The invention comprises insecticidally active compounds of structural Formula I wherein R 1 , R 2 , and R 3 are H or Cl at least one of them being H, and the oxygen bridge is 5 : 8, 6 : 7, or 7 : 8, or both 5 : 8 and 6 : 7. The compounds of Formula I may be prepared by treating, in any desired order, an appropriate analogue or isomer of dieldrin or dihydroaldrin by photodechlorination under the influence of ultraviolet light of one or more vinylic chlorine atoms and reductive replacement of a 9-chlorine atom where appropriate. The compounds of Formula I are used as insecticidal compositions and compositions as such are described and claimed.
