| abstract | 1500968 Dry-cleaning HOECHST AG 2 June 1975 [1 June 1974] 23781/75 Heading D1A In dry-cleaning apparatus in which solvent is circulated through a perforated drum 5 in a casing 4 from a solvent vessel 8 with a solvent cooling system, vapour is removed from the casing compressed and either returned to the casing through a heat exchanger where it is heated or condensed and returned to vessel 8, casing 4 being usable as a solvent distillation vessel. Compressor 10 reduces the pressure in casing 4 before the commencement of cleaning and the return of pressure at the end of cleaning operates a presso static control to release door 24. Suitable cleaning solvents are trichlorofluoromethane, tetrachlorotrifluoroethane trichlorodifluoroethane or trichlorotrifluoroethane or a mixture of two or more of these. |
