titleOfInvention Automatic dishwashing detergent composition
abstract 1500177 Dishwashing composition PROCTER & GAMBLE CO 16 June 1975 [17 June 1973 (3)] 25545/75 Heading C5D A granular cleaning composition for use in automatic dish washing machines comprises (a) from 4 to 20% by wt. of an alkoxylated nonionic surfactant in which the alkoxy moiety is ethoxy or propoxy and (b) from 5 to 20% by wt. of a sulphonated aromatic hydrotrope having a critical micelle concentration greater than 1% by wt./volume in g./ 100 c.c. at 25‹ C. wherein the wt. ratio of the surfactant (a) to hydrotrope (b) is 2:5 to 5:3, the composition being free of chlorine bleaching agents. The hydrotrope (b) may be an alkali metal salt of benzene sulphonate, toluene sulphonate, xylene sulphonate, cumene sulphonate, a trimethylbenzene sulphonate, ethylbenzene sulphonate, or ethylmethylbenzene sulphonate. A suds suppressing agent such as a siloxane, a microcrystalline wax or a phosphate ester derived from a fatty alcohol may also be present. The compositions may also comprise an alkali metal sulphite and an alkali metal sulphate, sodium tripolyphosphate, chlorinated trisodium phosphate, sodium silicate, sodium carbonate, sodium polymetaphosphate and sodium sulphate. The surfactant (a) may be an ethylene oxide/propylene oxide condensate of trimethylolpropane or such a condensate with propylene glycol, glycerol, pentaerythritol or ethylene diamine or a condensate of tallow alcohol with ethylene oxide.
