titleOfInvention | Process for preparing smoke-retardant polyisocyanurate foam |
abstract | 1497956 Polyisocyanurate / organosilicone foams MITSUBISHI CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd 5 March 1976 [13 March 1975] 09015/76 Heading C3C A smoke retardant polyisocyanurate foam is made by polymerizing an organic polyisocyanate which may be an aliphatic and/or aromatic polysiocyanate or a modified compound thereof having 2 or more NCO groups which are polymerizable to form polyisocyanates in the presence of a blowing agent, an isocyanate trimerization catalyst and an organosilicone surfactant having a Si content of 4-22 wt. per cent and which is an organopolysiloxanepolyoxyalkylene copolymer, a polyvinylsilane having a polyoxyalkylene side chain or a substitution product thereof, the polyxoyalkylene group having ethylene oxide units and optionally propylene oxide units, there being at least 40% of ethylene oxide units based on the total alkylene oxide units, the surfactant being used in such amounts as to provide 0À5 -6 wt. per cent Si in the foam. In the examples foams were made from mixtures of a polymeric isocyanate with one of the above silicone surfactants, N,N<SP>1</SP>,N<SP>11</SP>-tris-(dimethylaminopropyl)hexahydro - sym - triazine, ethylene glycol, potassium acetate and trichlorofluoromethane. |
