abstract | 1496036 Coating compositions BAYER AG 14 Feb 1975 [16 Feb 1974] 6344/75 Heading C3R A coating composition comprises a mixture containing, by weight, 5-30 parts benzoguanamine aminoplast and 95-70 parts polyester (E) modified with 1-11% polysiloxanes (S), by wt. based on the modified polyester; where (E) contains residues of: dicarboxylic acids being (A) aromatic and, optionally, cycloaliphatic, and (B) aliphatic; and polyhydric alcohols being diols (D) and optionally triols (T); where 100-40% moles (A) are o-phthalic acid and 85-100% moles of the polyols are (D) and 0-15% moles are (T). The acids may contain 85-50% moles (A) and 15-50% moles (B). (E) and (S) may be reacted at 80-200 C., optionally in the presence of a catalyst, e.g. a metal salt. The coating composition may be used as a solution in organic solvent(s). Use.-Coating metal tape or sheet, e.g. steel, galvanized steel or Al. |
