abstract | 1492974 Preserving intestines H VAESSEN BV 21 March 1975 [21 March 1974] 12450/74 Heading A2D A process for preserving natural intestines comprises inflating the intestines with a fluid expansion medium, subjecting the inflated intestines to a preservation treatment with an acid or alkaline preservation solution, deflating and drying the intestines. The fluid expansion medium may be air, water or the preservation solution. The preservation solution may be an alkali metal hydroxide, carbonate, bicarbonate, acetate or peroxide, or hydrochloric, acetic, lactic or tartaric acid. The intestines may be dried at 30-100C, suitably in a stretched condition. |
