titleOfInvention | Vinyl chromogenic compounds |
abstract | 1492913 Vinyl chromogenic compounds NCR CORP 15 March 1976 [10 April 1975] 10239/76 Heading C4P Novel vinyl chromogenic compounds have the formula wherein expressants unsubstituted or alkyl-, dialkyl, chloro-, diehloro-, trichloro-, tetrachloro-, bromo-, dibromo-, tribromo-, tetrabromo-, nitro-, or dialkylamino-substituted; unsubstituted or nitro-substituted A represents in which X is a 4-alkoxyphenyl, 2,4-dialkoxyphenyl; or 3,4-dialkoxyphenyl group; Y is: any X; H; or a carbalkoxy; or nitro group; Q is: Z is: H or halogen; or alkyl, carbalkoxy, benzyl, unsubstituted or substituted phenyl, or pyridino; T represents wherein each of R 1 and R 2 is independently H or alkyl, unsubstituted or substituted phenyl, benzyl, acyl or cycloalkyl; provided that R 1 and R 2 are not simultaneously phenyl; each of R 3 , R 4 , R 5 and R 6 is H or halogen, alkyl, phenyl, benzyl, alkoxy, amino, monoalkylamino, dialkylamino or acylamino; each of R 7 and R 8 is H, phenyl or alkyl; and wherein the alkyl or alkyl-containing groups have less than seven carbon atoms. The compounds are prepared by reacting an appropriate dicarboxylic acid or acid anhydride, wherein E is as defined above, with an aniline, indole, benzoindole or carbazole, unsubstituted or substituted as defined above, and thereafter reacting the intermediate ketoacid with an ethylene compound substituted as defined above. The compounds may be used as pressure- and heat-sensitive materials, and may be dissolved in an organic solvent and microencapsulated. |
