titleOfInvention Method of producing a non-fibrous pancreatin having a low germ count
abstract 1492724 Fibre-free pancreatin KALICHEMIE PHARMA GmbH 2 March 1976 [22 March 1975] 08370/76 Heading C3H Fibre-free pancreatin is made by extracting fat from frozen pancreas gland material, which has been sufficiently finely ground to substantially destroy the cell walls, the extraction having been effected within a period of from 30-300 seconds at a temperature which does not exceed 60‹ C. but which is higher than that of the frozen gland material, using a solvent mixture of liquid chlorohydrocarbon(s) and liquid fluorochlorocarbon(s), with or without the addition of water, thereby effecting the simultaneous destruction of germs, and wherein the resulting enzyme phase is concentrated and dried after the removal of the fat-solvent phase. In examples an aqueous slurry of ground pancreas glands is extracted with a mixture of dichloromethane and trichlorofluoromethane. The physical properties of the products are reported.
