abstract 1491330 Fungicidal treatment of wood IMPERIAL GROUP Ltd 14 July 1976 [22 Aug 1975] 34875/75 Heading A5E A method of treating a wooden article with a fungicide comprises applying to the whole surface of the article for at least one minute a preparation of copper-8-hydroxyquinolate mixed with water whose copper constituent is in particulate form having a particulate size less than one micron. The low particle size facilitates penetration of the wood. A dyestuff may be present to facilitate visual recognition of treated articles. The treated wood finds application in making wooden pallets for use in transporting cigarettes and foods.
