titleOfInvention Ascorbic acid derivative and pharmaceutical compositions containing the same
abstract 1489734 Ascorbic acid derivatives NIPPON CHEMIPHAR CO Ltd 2 April 1976 [8 April 1975] 13416/76 Heading C2V The invention comprises sodium L-ascorbate- 2-sulphate which may be used to treat hyperlipemia. In examples the di-sodium salt of L- ascorbic acid-2-sulphate is obtained by reacting 5,6 - O - isopropylidene - L - ascorbic acid with sulphuric anhydride and then with sodium hydroxide, and with chlorosulphonic acid and then with sodium hydroxide and by reacting 5,6 - O - cyclohexylidene - L - ascorbic acid with sulphuric anhydride and then with sodium hydroxide. The material may be mixed with a liquid, e.g. water or sucrose solution, or with a solid carrier, to form a pharmaceutical composition.
