abstract | 1486057 Metal recovery IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd 21 May 1976 [9 June 1975] 24629/75 Heading ClA [Also in Division C2] A process for extracting metal values from aqueous solutions containing their salts comprises treating the aqueous solution with a solution of a heterocyclic compound of the formula wherein X is an optionally substituted orthohydroxyphenyl group of the formula wherein R is hydrogen, halogen, alkyl or an electron-withdrawing group and R<SP>1</SP> is hydrogen or an optionally substituted hydrocarbon group attached directly or through an oxygen atom to the benzene ring; n is 1 or 2, with the proviso that the compound contains a total of at least 5 aliphatic or alicyclic carbon atoms, in a water immiscible solvent and separating the metal in the form of a complex with the heterocyclic compound in solution in the waterimmiscible solvent. |
