abstract | 1482756 Antiperspirant compositions JEYES GROUP Ltd 31 July 1975 [12 June 1974] 26021/74 Heading A5B [Also in Division C4] A pressurised composition comprises a finely divided gel-forming water-absorbent material together with a liquified gaseous propellant. The gel-forming water-absorbent material is a solid which, on contact with aqueous fluids e.g. sweat, forms an aqueous fluid-retaining non- sticky gel which serves to maintain the aqueous fluid even under moderate mechanical pressure. Suitable materials are alginates, carragheenates, carboxypolymethylenes, ethylene oxide crosslinked polymers of acrylic acid and basehydrolysed starch/polyacrylonitrile graft copolymers. The compositions may also include suspending or emulsifying agents, bactericides, perfumes, odour counteractants, preservatives, emollients and anti-valve clogging agents. A suitable propellant is a mixture of trichlorofluoromethane and dichlorodifluoromethane. |
