titleOfInvention Diagnostic agent
abstract 1480092 Diagnostic agent for coagulation factors WARNER-LAMBERT CO 14 Aug 1974 35755/74 Heading G1B A lyophilized diagnostic reagent comprises a blood platelet substitute containing cephalin having platelet factor-like activity (defined) combined with 0À05-1À0 wt per cent, based on the composition, of non-porous fumed silica of 20-60 mÁ particle size and 50 m<SP>2</SP>/g surface area. The silica preferably has <3 silcenol groups/100Š<SP>2</SP> surface area. The reagent may also contain calcium free acacia, tragacanth, guargum, dextran or sucrose. Prior to lyophilization the composition may contain 0À5-3À0 wt per cent suspending agent and have a pH of about 7À35. The blood platelet substitute may be a mammalian brain extract.
