abstract | 1477347 2(2 - Hydroxyphenyl) - 4 - ureido- 1,3,5-triazines HOECHST AG 4 Oct 1974 [8 Oct 1973] 43207/74 Heading C2C [Also in Division C3] Novel compounds of Formula I in which B<SP>1</SP> represents H; C 1-6 alkyl; C 1-6 alkoxy; phenyl or phenoxy each of which is optionally substituted by 1 or more OH, NO 2 , CH 3 , CH 3 O or amino groups (the latter optionally carrying one or two C 1-6 alkyl radicals as substituents); or an amino group optionally mono- or di(C 1-6 )alkyl-substituted; and each R<SP>2</SP> independently represents H, OH, C 1-6 alkyl, C 1-6 alkoxy or phenyl, are obtained by reacting a 4H-1,3-benzoxazin-4-one of formula with guanyl urea (or a mineral acid salt thereof). The reaction is preferably effected at 50-150‹ C. in suspension in methanol using guanyl urea sulphate in the presence of sodium methoxide. The compounds of Formula I are stabilizers for polymers. |
