titleOfInvention Aromatic amines
abstract 1473329 Amines FUJI PHOTO FILM CO Ltd 26 Sept 1974 [27 Sept 1973] 41978/74 Heading C2C The invention comprises aromatic amines comprising an o-aminophenol linked via an unsubstituted alkylene group to a group comprising at least one aryl nucleus having two hydroxy groups in a para-position to each other on a benzene ring of the aryl nucleus, or a quaternized salt thereof, and aromatic amines comprising an o-aminoalkoxy benzene group linked via an unsubstituted alkylene group to a group comprising at least one aryl nucleus having two alkoxy groups in a para-position to each other on a benzene ring of the aryl nucleus. The aminoalkoxy benzene derivatives may be prepared by reacting a dialkoxy-substituted arene with onitroalkoxy benzene carboxylic halide or alkylene carboxylic halide and hydrogenating the product. The aminophenol derivatives may be prepared by treating the aminoalkoxy benzene derivatives with hydrobromic acid, aluminium chloride, boron tribromide or pyridine hydrobromide.
