abstract 1470005 Antifungal preparation containing an antibiotic GIST-BROCADES NV 2 July 1975 [3 July 1974 14 Feb 1975] 29503/74 Heading A2D [Also in Division A5] An antifungal preparation for use on agricultural products comprises a polyene antibiotic in a mixture of a C 1 -C 8 alkanol and a C 1 -C 8 alkanoic acid. The preferred antibiotics are natamycin, aureofungin and lucensomycin or a salt or ester thereof. Suitable alkanols are methyl, ethyl and propyl alcohol and the preferred alkanoic acids are acetic, propionic, lactic, citric, ascorbic, chloracetic and trichloroacetic acids. Water, coating components antioxidants, wetting agents and thickeners may also be added. The preparation is particularly suitable for heating fruit and vegetables.
