abstract 1469679 1 - Amino - 5,6 - dihydromorphanthridine - 5,11 - dione derivatives CHEM PHARMAZ FABRIK DR HERMANN THIEMANN GmbH 10 Dec 1974 [10 Dec 1973] 53324/74 Heading C2C Novel compounds of Formula I wherein R 1 and R 2 , which may be the same or different, each represents a hydrogen or halogen atom or a methyl, methoxy, methylthio, trifluoromethyl, nitro or acetyl radical, wherein at least one of the radicals represented by R 1 and R 2 is a hydrogen atom, R 3 represents a lower alkyl radical or a hydrogen atom, R 4 represents a lower alkyl radical or the radical in which n represents 0 or an integer from 1 to 3, and Y represents a halogen atom or an amino, mono - (lower - alkyl) - amino, di - (loweralkyl) - amino, piperidino, piperazino, or morpholino radical, and R 5 represents a hydrogen atom or a lower alkyl radical and lower denotes groups containing 1 to 3 carbon atoms, are prepared either (a) from a compound of Formula II which is mono- or di-alkylated at the 1-amino group or reacted with an #-haloalkanoic acid halide or phosgene and then with HY or (b) reacting a compound of Formula III wherein R 6 is C 1-3 alkyl with hydrazoic acid. Pharmaceutical compositions in conventional forms for oral, rectal and parenteral administration and having tranquillizing, neuroleptic and cramp relieving activity comprise an above novel compound and a carrier or diluent.
