1469514 Purification of dialkylamides IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd 25 July 1974 [7 Aug 1973] 37367/73 Heading C2C In processes in which an N,N-dialkylamide is prepared in the presence of an alkali metal catalyst, the catalyst residues are removed from the crude product by treating it with a cation-exchange resin. The dialkylamides are prepared by (a) reacting an alkyl ester with a dialkylamine in the presence of an alkali metal alkoxide or (b) reacting a dialkylamine with carbon monoxide in the presence of an alkali metal alkoxide. |
