1469358 Immobilized enzymes NESTLE SA 12 June 1975 25194/75 Heading C3H An enzyme is reacted with a polymer which carries both free aldehyde and free acid groups, the latter making up at least 5% of the total of such groups. The preferred enzyme is trypsin and it may be reacted with a copolymer of acrolein and acrylic acid. Sufficient free acid groups ensure that the solubility is pH dependent. Fixation of the enzyme to the copolymer is advantageously carried out in a buffer solution at room temperature. Using a buffer of pH 8 in aqueous homogeneous phase, the product is isolated by precipitation at pH 4. |
