titleOfInvention Liquid detergent composition
abstract 1468181 Liquid heavy duty detergent composition UNILEVER Ltd 9 Oct 1974 [11 Oct 1973] 47460/73 Heading C5D A liquid heavy duty detergent composition comprises 10-50% by weight of total active organic detergent material in a homogeneous aqueous system containing a synthetic detergent-active material selected from synthetic anionic, nonionic, amphoteric and zwitterionic detergents and mixtures thereof; 5-30% by weight of sodium tripolyphosphate and 1-20% by weight of a soap composition comprising a mixture of (A) at least one sodium soap of C 8 - C 14 saturated fatty acids and (B) at least one sodium soap of C 16 -C 22 mono- and/or diunsaturated fatty acids, wherein the ratio by weight of soap (A) to soap (B) is within the range of between 9 : 1 and 1 : 9, and having a viscosity of about 100 to about 2000 centipoises. Soaps (A) may be sodium caprylate, sodium caprinate, sodium laurate, sodium myristate or mixtures thereof, e.g. coconut or palm-kernel fatty acid soaps. Soaps (B) may be sodium oleate, sodium ricinoleate and sodium soaps of fatty acids derived from castor oil, rapeseed oil or mixtures thereof. The synthetic anionic detergents may be in the form of sodium, potassium, NH 4 or alkanol-ammonium sulphates and sulphonates. A mixture of anionic and nonionic detergents is preferred. Optional ingredients are (C) other inorganic and organic builders; (D) anti-redeposition agents; (E) hydrotropes and other conventional detergent additives.
