1466129 Transportable energy sources LINDE AG 19 Nov 1974 [20 Nov 1973] 49940/74 Headings C5G and C5E A transportable source of energy is produced by separating at least a part of the hydrocarbons having 3 or more carbon atoms from natural gas, converting at least a part of the residue to methanol, and dissolving the separated hydrocarbons in the methanol formed. The separation of the hydrocarbons may be by scrubbing, using the methanol already produced as the scrubbing agent. Alternatively partial condensation and subsequent phase separation and/or rectification may be employed. |
