abstract 1464599 Pseudotrisaccharide antibiotics SCHERICO Ltd 21 Feb 1974 [23 Feb 1973] 7920/74 Heading C2C [Also in Division A5] Novel antibiotics 66-40B and 66-40D of the general formula in which, in the case of antibiotic 66-40B, ring A is of the formula and, in the case of antibiotic 66-40D, ring A is of the formula and pharmaceutically acceptable antibiotically active derivatives thereof such as non-toxic acid addition salts, solvates and Schiff base -oxazolidine derivatives are prepared by subjecting a composition comprising one of the said antibiotics in admixture with the other of the said antibiotics and/or one or more other structurally related compounds, e.g. pseudo-di- or -trisaccharides such as garamine and sisomicin, to chromatography on a non-ionic adsorbent, and isolating the antibiotic from a fraction obtained from said chromatographic separation as such or in the form of a pharmaceutically acceptable antibiotically active derivative.
