| abstract | 1463519 Combating coccidiosis in poultry MERCK & CO INC 4 Sept 1974 [10 Sept 1973] 38698/74 Heading A5B A poultry feedstuff contains from 0.0002% to 0.1 % by weight of a purine compound of formula:- in which n is 0 or 1, R<1> is Cl, Br, I, F, -NO2 or a trihalomethyl radical, and R<2> is Cl, Br, I, F or H, and R<1> and R<2> are located in the 2 and 6 positions, (not necessarily respectively) on the carbocyclic portion of the compound, or R<1> and R<2> are both methyl and are located in the 3 and 4 positions on the carboxylic ring, together with another coccidiostat, the weight of which is from 1 to 300 times the weight of the purine compound, the other coccidiostat being amprolium, ethopabate, sulphaquinoxaline, pyrimethamine, nicarbazin, alklomide, sulphanitran, clopidol, robenzidine, nitromide, 3, 5-dinitro-o-toluamide, roxarsone, arsanilic acid, buquinolate, decoquinate, monensin, nitrophenide, furazolidone, nihydrazone, nitrofurazone, dimethalium, or chlothiamine or a homologue or analogue thereof. A poultry feed supplement composition containing 0.05% to 50% by weight, based on the total composition, of a mixture of the purine compound and other coccidiostat is also described and claimed as is a water-dispersible or water-soluble powder containing from 0.03% to 25% by weight, based on the total composition, of a mixture of the purine compound and other coccidiostat. |
