titleOfInvention Substituted esters of n-4-quinolyl-anthranilic acids
abstract 1462676 Substituted esters of N-(4-quinolyl) anthranilic acid ROUSSEL UCLAF 13 June 1974 [13 June 1973] 26294/74 Heading C2 Novel compounds of the Formula I wherein X, which is attached to the 7- or 8- position of the quinoline ring, is trihalomethyl or trihalomethylthio, Z is -(CH 2 ) n - or wherein n is 2-6 and m and p are 2 or 3, Y 1 and Y 2 , which may be the same or different, are C 1-6 alkyl or Y 1 and Y 2 together are a C 4 or C 5 alkylene radical, and non-toxic acid addition salts thereof may be prepared by esterification of a functional derivative of an acid of the Formula II with an alcohol HO-Z-NY 1 Y 2 , optionally followed by salt formation. N - (8 - trifluoromethyl - 4 - quinolyl)anthranilic acid chloride is prepared by reacting the free acid with thionyl chloride. Pharmaceutical compositions of the compounds of the Formula I or salts thereof with the usual excipients show analgesic and anti-inflammatory activity when administered parenterally, buccally, rectally or topically.
