abstract | 1460044 Animal feed supplement ANIMALKA MINERAL AS 14 March 1974 [16 March 1973] 11386/74 Divided out of 1459396 Heading A2B Animal feed is supplemented by adding fly ash thereto. The fly ash may be added to the feed by itself or in the form of a composition containing 1-20% fly ash, and soluble salts of alkali or alkaline earth metals, especially salts of Ca, Mg, K and Na. The composition may contain 20-100 gm/kg of Ca, 3-20 gm/kg of Mg, 50-200 gm/kg of K and 1-30 gm/kg of Na. The amount of fly ash administered is 0.1-25 mg/kg of animal body weight per day, and the feed contains 0.0003-0.1% fly ash. The fly ash contains a wide spectrum of elements, being derived especially from German or Polish coal. The fly ash may be fed together with green fodder, silage, convention vitamin or mineral premixes, soya bean cakes or meal, turnips, corn, barley, oats, fish meal, meat-andbone meal, sunflower seeds, oilcakes, dicalcium phosphate, chalk, D-L-methionine in wheat flour, cottonseed cakes, crushed cottonseed or rapeseed, sunflower cakes, animal fat, or molasses. The preferred Ca, Mg, K or Na salts used in the composition are the gluconate, citrate, lactate, glycerophosphate, tartrate and hydrogen phosphate. |
