abstract 1459943 Esters of dibenzopyranols and cyclopentabenzopyranols ABBOTT LABORATORIES 3 April 1974 [5 April 1973 13 Feb 1974] 14853/74 Heading C2C The invention comprises compounds of formulĀµ and their pharmaceutically acceptable salts, wherein n is 1 or 2, R and R 1 are each H or C 1-6 alkyl, R 2 is C 1-6 alkyl, Y is C 1-10 alkylene, R 4 , R 5 and R 6 are each H, halogen, CF 3 or C 1-6 alkyl, and R 3 is Q-C 2-9 -alkanoyl where Q is an N-attached saturated heterocyclyl radical as defined in the Specification. These compounds are prepared by ester-formation, by reacting together in the presence of dicyclohexylcarbodiimide, the corresponding phenol and carboxylic acid R 3 OH. Therapeutic compositions for oral, parenteral or rectal administration comprise the above compounds, which are analgesics and mild tranquilizers.
