1459522 Nicotinic acid derivatives BAYER AG 13 Feb 1974 [14 Feb 1973] 6534/74 Heading C2C [Also in Division C4] 2,4,6 - Trihydroxy - nicotinic acid ethyl ester is prepared from diethyl malonate and ammonia. Reaction of the product with ammonia, or using excess ammonia in the preparation gives 2,4,6 - trihydroxynicotinic acid amide. 2,4,6 - Trihydroxy - nicotinic acid nitrile is prepared from diethyl malonate, cyanoacetic acid ethyl ester and ammonia. 2,4,6-Trichloronicotinic acid nitrile is prepared from 2,6,4-trihydroxynicotinic nitrile or acid amide and POCl 3 . Hydrolysis in sulphuric acid gives 2,4,6-trichloronicotinic acid amide. 2,4,6-Tri(hydroxyethylamino and methoxyethylamino)nicotinic acid nitrile are prepared by reacting the corresponding chloro compounds with the appropriate amine. 2,4,6-Tri(hydroxyethylamino)-nicotinic acid amide or acid #- hydroxyethylamide are prepared from the corresponding trichloro ester or amide and ethanolamine. |
