1457650 Concentrating proteins UNITED STATES ENERGY RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT ADMINISTRATION 14 Oct 1974 [31 Oct 1973] 44334/74 Heading C3H [Also in Division B1] Macromolecules are concentrated by enclosing a prime liquid, e.g. urine, plasma, serum or vaccines containing macromolecules, e.g. protein, as a solute or suspension within a dialysis membrane, immersing the membrane within a bath of the solvent or suspending medium, freezing the bath and removing the membrane containing the concentrated macromolecules from the frozen bath. The membrane may be removed by thawing. The process is exemplified by the concentration of protein in urine using a bath of water. |
