abstract | 1456730 Monoazomethine pigments HOECHST AG 14 Feb 1974 [15 Feb 1973] 6722/74 Heading C4P A monoazomethine pigment has the formula wherein Ar represents an otherwise optionally substituted aromatic or heterocyclic radical substituted by one or more of the same or different substituents selected from substituted sulphonic acid amide groups, unsubstituted and substituted carboxylic acid amide groups, unsubstituted and substituted acylamino, sulphonylamino or urea, and carboxylic acid ester groups and -NHCO- groups forming part of a ring which may contain one or more of the same or different further hetero atoms, and wherein the benzene nucleus a is unsubstituted or substituted by one or two of the same or different substituents. Ar may be a phenyl, benzimidazolone, indazolone, 2,4-dioxo-quinazoline or 2,3-dioxo-quinoxaline ring system. The pigments are prepared by condensing an appropriate amino with a hydroxynaphthaldehyde. They are suitable for colouring printing pastes and a variety of high-molecular organic substances, e.g. cellulose ethers and esters, polyamides, polyurethanes, polyesters, acetyl and nitrocellulose, amino plastics, phenoplastics, polycarbonates, polyolefins, polyvinylchloride, polyacrylonitrile, polyacrylic acid esters, rubber, casein and silicone resins. |
