titleOfInvention | Process for the preparation of the beta-modification of tetrabromo-8,8,-dihydroxynaphthazine in pigment form |
abstract | 1454479 Naphthazine pigments BAYER AG 1 Aug 1975 [3 Aug 1974] 32264/75 Heading C4P The #-modification of tetrabromo-8-8<SP>1</SP>-dihydroxynaphthazine in pigment form is prepared by kneading 1 part by weight of the α- modification of the pigment at 30-300 C. in presence of 0À2-20À0 parts by weight of an inorganic or organic salt which is soluble in water or in aqueous acids or bases, 0À1-3À0 parts by weight of a diluent in which the salt and the #-modification of the pigment are insoluble and 0À005 to 3À0 parts by weight of an aromatic solvent for the pigment which is liquid under the kneading conditions. The diluents have a b.p. above 140 C. and include ethylene glycol, propylene glycol, glycerol, ethanolamines, polyethylene- and polypropylene-glycols and their monoesters and others, polyethyleneamines and N-alkylated and N-hydroxyalkylated polyethylene imines, silicone oils, phosphoric acid amides and esters and salt melts, e.g. aluminium and zinc chlorides. The inorganic and organic salts include sodium chloride, sulphate, acetate and citrate, potassium chloride, potassium sodium tartrate, zinc chloride, aluminium chloride or sulphate and calcium carbonate, or acetate. The aromatic solvents include benzene, toluene, xylenes, chlorobenzene, odichlorobenzene, nitrobenzene, o-chlorotoluene, aniline, toluidine, N-methylaniline, N,N-dimethylaniline, phenol, o-cresol, phenol acetate, benzoic acid methyl ester, benzoic acid ethyl ester, salicyclic acid methyl ester and p-nitroaniline. |
