abstract 1453405 3 - Amino - 2,5 - dichlorobenzoic acid CHINOIN GYOGYSZER ES VEGYESZETI TERMEKEK GYARA RT 21 March 1975 [22 March 1974] 11985/75 Heading C2C A process for the preparation of 3-amino-2,5- dichlorobenzoic acid or an alkyl ester or a salt thereof, comprises subjecting an alkyl 3-nitro- 2,5-dichlorobenzoate to reduction and optionally hydrolysing the reduced product. The process is preferably carried out in an aqueous medium. In order to improve the solubility of the starting material it may be suspended in a mixture of water and an appropriate organic solvent, preferably in aqueous acetone. The reduction is preferably carried out at from about 20‹ to 30‹ C.
