titleOfInvention | Metal corrosion inhibitors for aqueous mineral acid solutions comprising acetylene/butyraldehyde reaction products |
abstract | 1450168 Acetylene/n-butyraldehyde condensates AIR PRODUCTS & CHEMICALS Inc 14 Sept 1973 43227/73 Heading C2C [Also in Divisions C7 and E1] A corrosion inhibitor for aqueous mineral acid solutions consisting of 85-93% by wt. 1-hexyn- 3-ol and 5-decyn-4,7-diol and 7-15% by wt. by-products derived from at least one of nbutyraldehyde and acetylene, the weight ratio of 1-hexyn-3-ol to 5-decyn-4,7-diol being 2.25 : 1 to 1.25 : 1, made by reacting acetylene with an excess of the stoichiometric quantity of nbutyraldehyde at 0-50‹ C. in an inert solvent in the presence of a solid KOH and removing the solvent, and its preparation by the above method. |
