titleOfInvention Antibacterial n,n-dialkylthiocarbamoyl detergent compositions
abstract 1449977 Anti-bacterial cleansing compositions R T VANDERBILT CO Inc 30 Sept 1974 [1 Oct 1973] 42419/74 Heading C5D [Also in Division A5] A skin-substantive microorganism-inhibiting cleansing composition comprises at least one detergent selected from soaps, anionic, non- ionic, cationic and amphoteric surfactants and an effective amount of an anti-bacterial compound of formula where (1) R<SP>1</SP> and R<SP>2</SP> are the same or different and are CH 3 or C 2 H 5 and R<SP>3</SP> and R<SP>4</SP> both are cyclohexyl; or (2) R<SP>1</SP> and R<SP>2</SP> both are CH 3 , R<SP>3</SP> is H and R<SP>4</SP> is phenyl; or (3) R<SP>1</SP> and R<SP>2</SP> and R<SP>3</SP> and R<SP>4</SP> together with the respective N atoms to which they are attached form a heterocyclic ring, preferably morpholine. A typical compound is N,N-dimethylthiocarbamoyl-N<SP>1</SP>,N<SP>1</SP>. dicyclohexylsulphenamide. A shampoo contains as detergent ingredient (A) sodium stearate and sodium coconut fatty alcohol sulphate or (B) sodium coconut, fatty acid sarcosinate and sodium alkyl glyceryl ether sulphonate. Other conventional ingredients, e.g. .diethanolamide of coconut fatty acids and inorganic salts are also present in the liquid shampoos. The following abridgments are included in this series since the Specifications were through an error, not allotted to this group. References to them will be found in the name index to this volume.
