abstract 1447678 Making stator coils ALLM€NNA SVENSKA ELEKTRISKA AB 3 Dec 1973 [8 Dec 1972] 55915/73 Heading B3A A method of making a stator coil for an A.C. dynamo-electric machine wherein the coils are formed as Roebel bars, comprises forming first and second hair-pin bundles (3) Fig. 5 (not shown), of conductors with the conductors nested one within the other, longitudinally equally displacing the conductors of each bundle, making bends in the side portions of each conductor, nesting the conductors again so that the bends in the side portions are displaced relative to each other forming conductor assemblies by arranging the conductors as Roebel bars by intertwining those of each bundle, forming a coil from the two conductor assemblies and bending the coil to the required shape. The conductors of the first hair-pin bundle 3 are longitudinally displaced so that the conductor with the greater radius of curvature has the greatest displacement, while in the second hair-pin bundle the conductor with the smallest radius of curvature has the greatest displacement.
