abstract | 1445116 Preparation of aromatic carboxylic acids TEIJIN Ltd 8 Aug 1973 [10 Aug 1972] 37638/73 Heading C2C A process for the preparation of an aromatic carboxylic acid comprises contacting with carbon monoxide and molecular oxygen or a molecular oxygen-containing gas, (a) an aromatic compound having at least one hydrogen atom attached directly to an aromatic nuclear carbon atom, in the presence of (b), as catalyst, a palladium salt of carbonic acid or of an organic carboxylic acid, which salt is at least partially soluble in (a), and, when (a) is not in the liquid phase in the presence of (c) an organic solvent for (a). The process is desirably carried out at a temperature of 0‹ to 300‹ C. |
