titleOfInvention Process for the manufacture of sulphonic acid fluorides
abstract 1444868 Sulphonic acid fluorides CIBAGEIGY AG 29 Aug 1974 [11 Sept 1973] 37906/74 Heading C2C Sulphonic acid fluorides of general formula wherein R is a straight or branched alkyl or cycloalkyl radical, are prepared by reacting thio compounds of general formula with NO 2 or N 2 O 4 in the presence of liquid HF, where X is H or -S-R. Suitable thiols have 1-18C atoms or 5 or 6 ring C atoms. The reaction is preferably conducted at - 10‹ to + 75‹ C. using 50-100% HF and NO 2 or N 2 O 4 in stoichiometric amounts or in an excess of up to 30%. In the examples the compounds C 9 H 19 SO 2 F and cyclohexylsulphonyl fluoride are prepared.
