1444038 Insecticidal collar A H ROBINS CO INC 19 Nov 1974 [20 Nov 1973] 50059/74 Heading A5E A flea control collar for a warm blooded animal comprises a strip of a mixture of a flexible synthetic resin material and 5-25% by wt. of naled, the strip having surface openings in communication with pores in the strip whereby upon use the strip may release naled vapour at a rate effective to control fleas on the animal but insufficient a form as droplets on the strip or to be toxic to the animal. Suitable synthetic resins are polyvinyl chloride, polymethylmethacrylate, polystyrene, polyurethane, polyethylene, polypropylene or nylon. A minor amount of dimethyl 2, 2-dichloro-vinyl phosphate may also be added to the strip with the naled. The porosity in the strip is achieved by the vapourisation of a volatile compound added to the resin composition prior to curing, suitable volatile compounds include e.g. chloroacetaldehyde, bromal, and 2 bromopropanol. |
