abstract 1442242 Detergent compositions KAO SOAP CO Ltd 8 Aug 1974 [10 Aug 1973] 35000/74 Heading C5D A detergent composition producing good foam during the washing step and little or no foam during the rinsing step comprises an anionic surfactant and/or a nonionic surfactant and in addition 3 to 50% by wt., based on total composition, of at least one 1-hydroxyalkane sulphate having 12 to 22 carbon atoms. Specified sulphates are sodium 1-hydroxytetradecane-5 (or -6) sulphate, sodium 1-hydroxyoctadecane-9 (or -10) sulphate and sodium 1 - hydroxyhexadecane - 9 (or -10) sulphate. Further components are (A) inorganic and organic builders, e.g. sodium tripolyphosphate, sodium silicate, sodium carbonate, sodium citrate and sodium nitrilotriacetate, (B) carboxymethylcellulose, (C) polyethylene glycol, propylene glycol and ethanol.
