abstract 1436567 Coumarilic acid amides CONSORTIUM FUR ELEKTROCHEMISCHE INDUSTRIE GmbH 12 Nov 1973 [21 Nov 1972] 52394/73 Heading C2C Coumarilic acid amides of the formula wherein R 1 is hydrogen, (C 1 -C 3 ) alkyl or -OCH 3 ; R 2 is hydrogen or (C 1 -C 3 ) alkyl; R 3 is hydrogen or methyl and R 4 , R 5 , R 6 and R 7 denote hydrogen, halogen, (C 1 -C 3 ) alkyl or -OCH 3 , provided that at least three of R 4 -R 7 represent hydrogen, are prepared by reacting the corresponding coumarilic acid chloride with ammonia or a primary or secondary amine. The amides, some of which are novel, possess herbicidal properties.
