titleOfInvention | Process for the production of basic polyamides |
abstract | 1435553 Acid-dyeable polyamides BAYER AG 4 July 1973 [8 July 1972 (2)] 31771/73 Heading C3R Acid-dyeable fibre-forming polyamides are derived from the polycondensation of (a) an #-aminoacid or lactam, (b) 0À1 to 5 mol. per cent of a di(C 2-6 alkylene)triamine, (c) a dicarboxylic acid and (d) a monocarboxylic acid, (c)+(d) providing 2 equivalents COOH per mol. of (b) and the molar ratio (c) : (d) being between 1 : 10 and 20 : 1. Specified reactants are: (a) butyro-, valero-, capro- and lauryl lactams and amino-butyric, -caproic and -decanoic acids; (b) di-propylene, -butylene, -hexylene, and -ethylene, triamines and (c) oxalic, succinic, glutaric, adipic, sebacic, decane dicarboxylic, tere- or iso-phthalic, and cyclohexane-1,4-dicarboxylic acids; and (d) acetic, butyric, lauric, stearic, optionally alkyl-, alkoxy- or halo-substituted benzoic and cyclehexane carboxylic acids. Higher polyamines, e.g. triethylene tetramine or tetraethylene pentamine may also be present as reactants. An extensive list of reactive acid dyes which may be used to dye the polymers is given. Reference is made to Specifications 1,263,952, 1,065,363 and 749,479. |
