titleOfInvention | Process for dispersing undissolved finely divided substances |
abstract | 1431847 Polymer dispersant DEUTSCHE GOLDUND SILBER-SCHEIDEANSTALT 26 July 1973 [26 July 1972] 35652/73 Heading C1A [Also in Division B1] Undissolved, finely divided, inorganic substances are dispersed in aq. systems containing at least 70% by wt. water using 0À05-10% by wt. of a polymer having a degree of polymerization of 10-500 and comprising the following units and wherein U = 12 - 47, V = 1 - 25, W= O - U, Y= 100 - (U + V + Z) and Z = 0 - 20; A is an alkali metal, H or NH 4 ion; R<SP>1</SP> is H, CH 3 , CH 2 OH, C 2 H 5 , Cl or Br; R<SP>2</SP> and R<SP>4</SP> are H or CH 2 OH; R<SP>3</SP> and R<SP>5</SP> are H, CH 3 or C 2 H 5 ; and wherein W>0 and the ratio of mol. per cent of carboxyl or carboxylate groups and OH groups is 2 : 1 - 16 : 1. Examples disclose the dispersion of CdS, Al 2 O 3 and BaSO 4 . Many other materials, including metals, metal compounds and SiO 2 are specified. |
