abstract | 1430324 Compositions for treating acne or seborrhea STERLING DRUG INC 2 April 1974 [16 April 1973] 14644/74 Heading A5B A composition for the treatment of acne or seborrhea, comprises from 5 to 30% by weight of urea, from 0.1 to 1.0% 'by weight of an unconjugated bile acid, and from 20 to 60% by weight of ethanol and/or isopropyl alcohol, the remainder being a pharmaceutical excipient, the percentages by weight being based on the total composition. The composition may also contain a compound having antibacterial or lipase-inhibiting activity such as benzalkonium chloride or 1, 6-bis(2-ethylhexylbiguanido) hexane. A steroid compound having antiandrogenic or anti-inflammatory activity may also be present. |
